Position: Chef de Partie
Location: Old Manor, Potters Bar – Live Out – £18k / £24k
Our stunning 15th century pub in South Hertfordshire is looking to recruit two experienced Chef de Parties to join a brigade of 8 to help continue to build on the reputation of this highly successful business.
The food is classic British cuisine served and prepared using modern cooking techniques. You will get to work with award winning Chefs whom have worked in some of the UK’s most prestigious kitchens.
The People
The ideal Chef de Partie will have gained experience working and creating menus with all fresh produce.
As a Chef de Partie you should be confident and consistent when working under pressure, as well as helping the team get through service smoothly.
This position would suit someone who is a Chef de Partie already or a Commis Chef who wants to progress into an awarded business and learn the additional skills needed to progress to the next level in the not too distant future.
As the Chef de Partie you will be willing to learn, answering directly to the senior members of the team, however you should be pro-active and reliable and show strong initiative in a busy and rewarding kitchen environment.
The successful applicant must also demonstrate strong communication skills and have a good level of written and spoken English.
Applicants for this position should have excellent team working skills and good sense of humour.
As Chef de Partie you will be expected to run your own section and to be able to work unsupervised and remain calm under pressure.
The positions require candidates who can cope with the demands of a busy environment. This operation is very busy so your working day fly’s by.

Position: Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Old Manor, Potters Bar – Live Out – £18k / £23k pa.
Start Date: Immediate
This role is primarily focused on assisting the Senior management team at The Old Manor. You will need to have had a good grounding in running a well organised, well presented operation and ideally have cellar management skills. There will be times when you cover both the bar and the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
With a loyal customer base and an established service team in place, you will need to be a stronger character that can motivate and encourage the team and to lead from the front.
Your energy and enthusiasm levels for going that ‘extra mile’ for a guest are paramount.
All our management have a huge input into which direction the business is guided. You will be the type of person that prefers to work with, rather than for somebody if you were given the chance.
A sense of humour and an engaging personality are of paramount importance. A passion for service and food standards are in your nature.

Position: Kichen assistant / Commis Chef
Location: Old Manor, Potters Bar
Start Date: Immediate
You will be:
- washing and cleaning dishes, keeping all areas clean & tidy at all times
and maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all tasks carried out
- helping chefs with food preparation
You must:
- have experience of working in a busy kitchen
- be efficient and thorough and always working to high standards
- be able to work hard whilst keeping a smile on your face
- have excellent spoken and written English
- be eligible to work in the UK
- live within a reasonable travelling distance as you may often be
working weekends and/or finishing late at night and there is no
live-in accommodation.
- be punctual and possess good communication skills
- be flexible in your working hours
